Welcome to the website of the SAVE research project,

supported by the Occitanie Region, the Rhône Méditerranée Corse and Adour-Garonne water agencies and ADEME.

Coordinated by the NEREUS company, the project brings together the skills of the SAPOVAL company and the public research laboratories LGC, TBI, IEM and LEFE.

The SAVE project proposes the design, evaluation and performances demonstration of an innovative hybrid process for the treatment of domestic wastewater and sludge...

  • The treatment chain aims to produce water without any detected micropollutants or risks of antibiotic or viral resistance (Covid, etc.), to reduce sludge volumes by a factor of three and to double biogas production!
  • The process sanitary efficiency will be also evaluated by bioassays (Ecotoxicology) and antigenic analyses (Antibiotic resistance).

...and the development of a method for characterizing micropollution.

  • Organic micropollutants are widely quantified in aqueous matrices (WWTP effluents) while their assessment in solid matrices (sludge types) remains much rarer, notably due to the lack of appropriate methodologies or the difficulty of implementing them.
  • The developed method will allow the quantification of organic micropollutants in water as well as in sludge.
