The SAVE project, Station Avancée pour la Valorisation des Effluents (Advanced Station for the Valorisation of Effluents), is part of major national and European issues, both in terms of the environment and human health. The issues are based on :
- A scarcity of water resources
- Deterioration in the quality of aquatic environments with more severe low water levels
- Evidence of micropollutants occurence of with an absence of exhaustive and economical treatment solutions
- An uncontrolled occurrence of the risk of antibiotic resistance
- A renewable energy production objective not achieved
- Urban sludge management questioned
